We are happy to announce that in association with Sun Microsystems & Start-up Essentials we are offering free scalable on-demand Ruby On Rails hosting to developers, start-ups and agencies.  The RailGun infrastructure uses some of the latest server and storage technology from Sun Microsystems along with our rock solid network.

What

We will give you root access to your own zone which has everything you need to deploy your app.  You can use it for any new Ruby applications. Simple.  If after 3 months you still want to continue your free hosting then you can apply for an extension.

• Use for a development environment - E.g. Running a private beta, or just getting the first lines of code written
• Use for a production environment - E.g. Host phase one of your app so that you can test the water

At the bottom of this page there is sign-up form simply fill it in and we will get your account activated. You can expect to get a phone call from one of our representatives to confirm your details.

Cost

Cancel at any time. No contracts. It’s free for 3-6 months for the package detailed below, if you want/need to upgrade to something more juicy then you will have to start paying, see here for pricelist.  We’re pretty sure that you’ll be able to get a very long way with what’s below.

Terms & Conditions

• One Zone per person
• Accounts which are innactive for 30 days will be de-activated
• Zones must be used for a Ruby app, we reserve the right to de-activate anyone in breach of these terms
• Emails sent is limited to 500 per hour
